What is Our Mission?
Sport 4 Life is an intermediary organization that connects available resources (social, educational, development, and monetary) to inner inner city sport teams serving low-income and at-risk youth. Our purpose is to equip at-risk youth with mental skills to achieve a high quality of life. We believe all children need guides to achieve healthy development.Through sports programs we put the young athlete's inner development as a priority. Our vision is to lower the percentage of adults that are incarcerated, drug addicted, and caught in a cycle of poverty; and increase college admissions and GPA averages.
Definition of our logo:
"The name of this symbol is "MFRAMADAN", which symbolizes readiness to face life's changes. This symbol suggests a reinforced or well-built home -- one built to withstand windy and treacherous conditions. It reflects in Asante history a clause in the unwritten constitution of the Golden Stool. Oral accounts say that according to that clause, mud houses Kumasi must be reinforced with turf. This reinforcing would cause the house to be sturdier and resistant to unfavorable weather conditions." --from The Adinkra Dictionary by W.Bruce Willis |
